I think Payne's sarcasm is starting to rub off on Bentley. A special thanks to my brother, Christopher, for coming up with the name Major Freedom. And, oh yeah - happy 50th comic to me! It took me long enough! Let's see, at this rate, I'll reach 100 comics in ... well, that's depressing.

A belated Happy New Year to you all! Well, we've had a good run of comics that really had nothing to do with anything, but I think it's high time we got back on track with a nice little storyline. So, here ya go.
12/13/2009
Ah, the elusive Christmas comic! Yes, I decided that I was long overdue, so here it is in all its glory. Also: Even though this comic is almost two weeks late, I have still technically achieved the goal of my New Year's Resolution; I have come out with a comic every month. Yes, I know. Utterly spectacular. Well, at any rate, I hope to be able to continue this trend into next year. Maybe I'll even try to get them out on time! Maybe.

Sorry about the extreme lateness of this comic, folks. The coloring job proved to be quite a bit more time consuming than I had anticipated. But doesn't it look lovely? You know, I really think that someone ought to explain the concept of Halloween to Jentho. Then again, that might end up spoiling it for all the neighborhood kids. As for me, Halloween has long been my favorite holiday, and I'm glad to finally get around to properly celebrating it via this comic. Happy Halloween, everyone!

Least helpful comic ever! Well, here's a hint: you're probably doing it wrong. (Least helpful hint ever!) Anyway, I thought I'd experiment a bit here with highlights and shadows. Success or failure? You decide!

Tomorrow's my birthday! Celebrate by buying things at my store! Or, on account of the economy, I'll let you slide by with merely spreading the good word about this comic. Preferably to people rich enough to buy stuff from my store.

Sorry about being a few days late on this update. I recently got a new job, working ten hour days trekking through the desert, which is pretty tiring, so I opted to wait for the weekend to attempt to finish the comic. And yes, I know that two months ago I said that last month would be the conclusion of this storyline. Um... April Fool's? Yeah, that's it. Well, this was definitely the conclusion right here. I realize it's been almost five years since this storyline began, and that it should have been over a long time ago if not for my poor updating skills. So, to everybody who's still reading this comic, thanks for your patience. Starting next month - back to the castle for random plotless comics!
2/1/2009
Well, things are certainly coming to a head here. Be sure to tune in next month for the exciting conclusion! (I always wanted to say that!) In other news, I meant to mention this last month, but better late than never. I got a really fantastic present this Christmas from my brother's girlfriend: My very own League of Mad Scientists tote bag! Witness its super-cool awesomeness in these pictures: My brother actually tricked me into getting him the image that went onto it (by promising me a new banner for the website). The front sports the slogan "Taking over the world, so you don't have to," as well as the address for the website (it's along the bottom, so it's cut off in the picture). The back has lots of exploding beakers all over it. Yep. It's awesome. Thanks, Beth! And while I'm at it, I've updated the store yet again. There are loads more items for you to waste, uh, I mean invest your money in now. Including, yes, a tote bag. Not as cool as the one Beth made for me, though. I mean, c'mon, I gotta keep the coolest one for myself! Well, check it out, and remember to support your not-so-local webcomic.

Happy New Year! And to start the year off right, here's a new comic. Ooh, isn't it pretty? I really went all out with the artwork on this one, and I'm quite pleased with how it turned out. So, my resolution this year is simple: Churn out one comic every month. Should be simple, right? Right? Well, if that's too infrequent for you, my brother has started his own comic, called Five O'Clock Shadow, which updates every Monday and Friday. And since he actually does update, he's very close to surpassing my total number of comics. So, there ya go. Check it out.
4/21/08
Why is my comic so tiny??? Ah, it's a clever little trick my brother came up with so that now you can view the latest news without having to scroll. As for the comic, just click on it, and it'll enlarge to it's proper size.

Ta-da! A brand spankin' new website! With a brand spankin' new comic to go with it, of course. Special thanks go out to my brother, Christopher, for writing the php code for the navigation. I couldn't have finished the site without you. I'm probably still going to be making a few changes here and there for a while, yet, but this is basically it. Oh, I will, of course, be changing those items in the store that have the old website address to reflect the new one. But I know what you're all really wondering about. "How often will she be updating?" Unfortunately, there's no set update schedule. Let's face it - even if there was, it's unlikely that I'd stick to it for very long. I am an archaeologist, and am on the road quite often. As of this writing, in fact, I've been away from home just shy of two months, and I foolishly forgot to bring my drawing tablet. Plus, archaeology is very tiring work! All that digging really takes it out of me, and sometimes hurts my hand to the point that I'm none to keen to draw. However, I can assure you that I will try my best to keep bringing you new comics as often as possible.

You aren't going crazy. Well, maybe you are. I'm not a psychiatrist. But today's comic is indeed in a different style than the others, which is because it was drawn by my talented guest artist friend, Erin Fellows. Kudos on the excellent work, Erin!

Hey, I just found out that Keenspace offers RSS feeds for all of the comics on their site. So, if you subscribe to the RSS feed, which can be found at http://loms.keenspace.com/rss.xml, then you'll know when the site has been updated. To steal a line from another webcomic, is it not nifty?
5/29/05
A word of explanation: As some of you are already aware, I work two jobs. Because of this, updates can be infrequent (to say the least). I do apologize for this, since I know how frustrating it can be (particularly since we're still in the middle of a storyline, here). In the meantime, huzzah! LOMS has been online for over a year! Not bad, eh?
2/6/05
Finally! I know, I know. It's been forever and a day since I updated. No matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't draw squat. But, I've finally managed it. I'm very sorry it took so long, and appreciate everybody's patience with me. Oh, and... uh... Happy New Year.
12/19/04
Less than a week until Christmas! Unfortunately, with everything else going on, that means I have been unable to complete this week's comic. Hopefully, I will be able to have a new one out on the 26th. Have a merry and safe Christmas, everyone!
11/28/04
It's autumn! I'm such a California gal; I didn't even realize that I'd drawn the background in the last comic in all green. So, I've fixed that. So, here it is, past 3:30 in the morning, again. I've really got to learn how to budget my time better.
11/21/04
Hey, lookit that! A double! Haven't done one of the longer ones in a while; I'm starting to remember why (it's 3:30 in the morning!). In other news, I found out how to use the pen tool in Photoshop! I used it on most of the above comic, as well as the last one. Nice smooth lines. Tres cool, as the say in France. Anyway, as of now, there will be a new LOMS every Sunday. Enjoy!
10/17/04
I'm back, baby! A solution to the scanner problem has been worked out (and it doesn't involve sledgehammers, even!), so hopefully I will be back on track from now on. Finally got to introduce this fellow, which makes me very happy. Oh, and by the way - coming soon: a redesign of one of the characters. But I'm not telling you which one! Anyway, it's good to be back. Thank you, everyone, for your patience.
08/16/04
More Bad News! The problems with my scanner have been upgraded from "irritating" to "somebody get me a sledgehammer." As a result, I will be unable to produce new LOMS until further notice. My humblest apologies.
07/28/04
Important Announcement Time! As you've no doubt noticed, I've had problems getting the comic out on time. Now, those problems have been compounded by my scanner, which has broken. Furthermore, I'm going on vacation for a few days. So, this is how it's going to be: the next comic will come out next Sunday, August 8th. After that, I will be switching to a once-a-week format for one month, so that I can hopefully build up a backlog of comics. By interrupting my official schedule temporarily, I hope to be able to bring this comic to you more regularly in the future. Thank you.
06/30/04
I know I took longer than estimated to finish the new LOMS, and for that I apologize. But, as you can, see, a new comic is up. Let us all dance in joyous celebration!
06/07/04
Bad news - I'm going on vacation, and won't return until next Wednesday. So, what you see is all that'll be up until then. Sorry.
06/02/04
It's my birthday! I demand a statue in my honor! Or, barring, that, additional readers are always nice. Keep spreading the word! To that end, I've formed an Orkut community for LOMS. Orkut requires someone to invite you to join, so if you don't know anyone, e-mail me, and I'll be nice and send you an invititation.
05/26/04
Got excess money and don't know how to get rid of it? That's easy - I've got a store, now (conveniently located under the heading "Store"), where you can waste wads of dough on LOMS paraphernalia. Enjoy!
05/07/04
So, in case you were wondering, here's how it's going to work: the comic updates every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Thus far, I've kept up my end of the bargain. Now, here's your end: tell the world of The League of Mad Scientists! Come along with me; It'll be a fun ride. I promise.
05/03/04
Greetings! Yep, this is it - the very first League of Mad Scientists comic. Eh. I'm too tired to come up with anything clever to say. |
